As part of Turn2us’ recruitment process, we are inviting CARM to play a direct and meaningful role in shaping how we appoint new colleagues. CARM will work with us to review and refine the proposed interview questions, ensuring that they are fair, relevant, and reflective of the values we wish to see in candidates. During the shortlisting stage, CARM can highlight areas that should be explored further with applicants, bringing in its expertise and lived experience to shape the discussion.

On the interview panel itself, CARM’s voice will carry equal weight to that of Turn2us colleagues. All panel members will have the opportunity to share their assessments openly, and CARM’s perspectives will be recognised as central to the process. If there are differences of opinion regarding a candidate’s suitability, the Chair of Trustees, will make the final decision. However, the panel’s deliberations — including CARM’s insights — will play a significant role in guiding that outcome.

By taking part in this process, CARM will not only help ensure that candidates are evaluated fairly, but also help strengthen Turn2us’ commitment to inclusive, lived-experience-led recruitment.
